Keeping the Tedford’s Legacy Alive for Ipswich Contractors and Homeowners
It all began with two WWII U.S. Navy Veterans, Jim Tedford, Sr. and Bill Martin, who originally opened the business as a sawmill. Eventually, they purchased property in Brown’s Square and started a lumberyard which in time expanded into a full-service lumberyard and hardware store. While Bill Martin eventually left the business, Jim Tedford kept it going and partnered with the True Value Company in 1975.
After spending some time getting to know the unique nature of Tedford’s and their special way of doing business, Mark Baker and John Garth purchased the business in 2015. They continue to honor the Tedford legacy through a commitment to premium building supplies and hardware and exceptional customer service.
